Morphological and anatomical analysis of the clary sage herbal drug (Salviae sclareae herba)

This paper presents an analysis of the morphological and anatomical characteristics aboveground parts (herba) clary sage (Salvia sclarea L.), with emphasis on investigation its surface structures. After procedure primary processing drying plant material, it was determined that composition crushed herbal drug Salviae sclareae herba showed presence leaves, bracts, flowers axis inflorescence, stems, a small amount ripe nuts. The structures stereomicroscope then permanent microscopic slides indicated two functional types trichomes (glandular non-glandular). Non-glandular mechanical are found in unicellular multicellular forms while glandular differentiated as capitate, greater number subtypes, peltate. Peltate most common calyx corolla capitate abundant stem leaf. Further studies should be directed toward chemical characterization essential oil herb individual organs present trichomes, along pharmacological effects.
